Our Coffee
AT ORIGIN…
The specialty-grade, organic beans we use to make Cold Black Coffee come from a small collection of hardworking smallholder farmers who belong to the Cooperative Todos Santos ASODIETT. We are proud to support a cooperative who prioritizes sustainable farming, humane community development and high quality coffee.
IN THE NETHERLANDS…
The green beans arrive in Amsterdam at Good Beans’ roasting space, where we light-roast them in small batches to bring out their chocolate-y sweetness and natural toffee notes. The freshly-roasted beans are moved to our brewing and canning partner’s facility south of the city where they are ground and immediately brewed using a carefully designed “cold drip” method.
Cold Drip brewing slowly releases ice-cold water through coarsely ground coffee drop by drop, (an 18 hour progress) to gently extract flavor and remove the bitterness associated with hot extraction.
The result is a smooth, naturally sweet concentrate with a clean finish, prized for its low acidity and versatility whether served over ice or with milk.
